Our chocolate chip cookie excavation was a fun activity! Students had to put themselves in the shoes of archaeologists by using tools such as a paint brush, forceps, toothpicks and a flashlight to "dig" for chocolate chips in a Chips Ahoy cookie. Some students really enjoyed the activity but said they don't have the patience to do this for their job. The consensus of the 6th grade was this has been the most fun activity we've done in Social Studies so far this year!
