Students made amulets using Ivory soap and various carving tools, such as toothbrushes, toothpicks, butter knives, cuticle pushers, and tongue scrappers. Yes, these are a little strange; however, they are similar in shape and function to tools ancient Egyptians may have used! Some of the students chose to make amulets that were representative of Ancient Egypt and others chose to make something meaningful to their lives. Some turned their amulets into necklaces and others chose to leave theirs as a hand held amulet. Who says learning can't be fun?!
