Three Warrior wrestlers qualified for State on Saturday by placing in the top 4 at the Canton Sectional.
Leo Voigts took 3rd place at 70 lbs. He had a first round bye and then won his quarterfinal match 15-0. In the semifinals, Leo lost to the eventual champion and then won two matches in the consolation bracket to take 3rd place.
At 112 lbs. Jack Voigts also finished in 3rd place. Winning his first two matches by pin, Jack lost to the eventual champion before scoring two more pins in the consolation bracket to finish with 4 pins on the day and 3rd place overall.
Braden Opperman opened with a first round bye at 126 lbs. before pinning his way to 1st place. Finishing the day with 3 pins, Braden pinned a wrestler from Tremont in :48 seconds to win the championship.
Marcus Borrego, Blaine Kuerth, and Ayden Henkel also qualified for Sectionals, but failed to advanced to State.
The State Tournament is this Friday/Saturday in Dekalb.
