Nine vaulters from the Pontiac Junior High track and field team attended a meet on Friday, April 11 hosted by Bloomington Junior High. Seventy-two vaulters competed in 4 divisions, 7th girls, 8th girls, 7th boys, and 8th boys.
In the 7th grade boys division, Kye Metz took 1st place hitting a new personal record of 9'3". This topped his previous height by a foot. We cannot wait to see what great heights he reaches this season!
For the girls, Bree Sperka also had an amazing night! She took home the 3rd place medal in the 7th grade girls division.
The other seven vaulters did outstanding and we couldn't be more proud! As coaches, we hope our athletes learn the importance of being good sports, win or lose. All PJHS athletes demonstrated good sportsmanship and were congratulatory to their competitors. Way to go, Warriors!
