Washington School celebrated Veteran's Day today by attending an assembly put on by Pontiac Junior High! We were able to listen to previous Washington students share the history behind Veteran's Day, facts, music, and guest speaker Scot Schickel. It was a very powerful and insightful assembly. Thank you to all of the Veterans who have served or are currently serving our country!
Don't forget, Veterans Day is this Monday! Please join us in wearing red, white, and blue as we honor our Veterans.
Thank you to ALL the generous donations that have come in from our Amazon Wish List for the school store and other activities planned for the students at school! The staff and students are very appreciative!!
There are still a few items that are on the list, if you are still interested in donating!

NO SCHOOL today for Election Day! See you all tomorrow!
Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL today!
We finished out our Red Ribbon Week with Red Day, and our very own election. Our Enrichment Committee put together a polling center so that our students could experience their voting rights they will receive when they get older. After voting, everyone was giving an I voted sticker and signed our "We Voted" poster.
Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL Monday (11/4) and Tuesday (11/5) for Election Day! Enjoy your long weekend!
Still a couple more items needed from the school store. If you haven't donated and would like to help out. Click the link below:

PAJAMA Day was a GREAT way to kick off Red Ribbon Week! Tomorrow is "Team Up Against Drugs", so wear your favorite sports jersey or sports gear!
Washington School will be accepting non-perishable food items (canned and boxed) now through November 26th. This year we have broken it down into grade levels.
4th Grade - canned soup, peanut butter, toilet paper, and pasta
5th Grade - canned vegetables, canned fruit, granola bars, and toothpaste
We are proud of this community service project and have had a great annual turn out. Last year, Washington School collected 300 items!!!! Please send items in with your child to their classroom teacher. All items will be delivered to our local Pontiac pantries. Thank you for considering donating to this wonderful drive.

At the school store this week, 5th graders were buying water bottle stickers, candy, keychain pop-its, raffle tickets, a UFO Fidget Drone, fidget spinner, and a few other items too this week!
We look forward to restocking favorite items in the school store along with seasonal and new items to keep it exciting for the students.
The goal for the school store was to promote academics and positive behaviors in the school. The staff is pleased to see that this is working!! Way to go Washington Elementary School students!!
PTO is excited to team up with Joe's Station House Pizza for a fundraiser day on Monday, October 21. 20% of your order will go to the students at District #429. Don't forget to mention #429 PTO when ordering. Let them take care of lunch or dinner and know that you are helping a great cause!
With the start of a new quarter, means a start of a new raffle opportunity for students with the School Store! Students can buy a raffle ticket to win a Kindle Fire, wireless mouse, fast food lunch, or head phones again at the end of the quarter. Each raffle ticket is 5 Washington Bucks!
Raffle tickets are popular items for our 4th grader students today! They also purchased googly-eye rings, glow-stick bracelets, candy, and smiley finger puppets too! Stay tuned for later in the week to see what our 5th graders like to buy from the store!
Congratulation to Mitva Chaudhari for being yesterday's winner!
Here is a tough one for our final scavenger hunt picture. Tell us where you can find these two floating around at school. A student with the correct location will be randomly selected to win a prize!
Have a great LONG weekend!
