It is getting chillier outside! Be sure to double check what your child is wearing is appropriate for the weather. We still go outside most days! If you need assistance getting a coat, hat, or gloves for your child, please reach out to Mrs. Stephens or your child’s teacher.
Starting THIS Thursday, Mrs. Starker and Mrs. Wright will be selling Lollipops! There are 15 different flavors to choose from, and each lollipop is only $1 each. 4th grade you will need to buy from Mrs. Starker's room, and 5th grade you will buy from Mrs. Wright's room. Lollipops will only be for sale on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8-8:30. We hope to see you with your delicious lollipops!
Tuesday’s featured Washington Warriors are Sarah Mathiesen and Peter Stadler. Sarah said that she is thankful for her classroom because her teachers are nice and fun! Peter is thankful for Fortnite because it gives him entertainment, and he can play online with friends.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to eat your favorite Thanksgiving foods! We have just a few days of Washington Warriors Give Thanks left and have some really good reasons to be thankful! Today, we have Eryk Melvin and Jade Baldwin giving thanks. Eryk is very thankful for veterans because they are so brave. Jade is thankful for her brothers because they are always nice to her and make her laugh.
Today is the day... It's Washington School's 6th annual famous Macy's Day Parade! Our Thanksgiving Day celebration will feature Grand Marshal, Mrs. Pickham, Mrs. Cosgrove as our announcer, Jase Pshak on trumpet, Mrs. Nollen as our DJ, and the entire 4th grade class. The students will be showcasing an exciting lineup of featured character balloons.

Before we go into Thanksgiving break this week, Gracy Gragert and Karter Sheppard would like to give some very special shout outs of thanks. Gracy is thankful for her grandma and grandpa because they do fun things with her and take her to the movies. Karter is thankful for air. It is obviously keeping him alive! All of us at Washington would like to wish all of our Washington families a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!
As we go into Thanksgiving week we have Jose Romero and Makenna Pennington as our thankful Warriors. Jose is thankful for his family because they love him and take so good care of him. Makenna is thankful for her parents because they sacrifice a lot in their lives for her.
To end this week of Washington Warriors Give Thanks we have River Roe and Jacob Vernia. River is thankful for Christmas because she gets a lot of nice things that she appreciates, and because it is Jesus’ birthday. Jacob is thankful for his family, military people that have sacrificed their lives, his friends and teachers at Washington.
Mrs. Vitzthum's class takes Pajama Day very seriously! They look great!
This week’s Thursday thankful Warriors are Evan Beach and Cali LaValley. Evan is thankful for his mom because she lets him hang out with his friends and play games. Cali is thankful for food and clothes because there are a lot of people who don’t have a lot of either.
Marley Collins and Caidyn Marsack are our thankful Warriors for this halfway point in November. Marley is very thankful for her family because she gets to live with them and she never feels alone. Caidyn is thankful for his Hot Wheels cars, Pokemon cards and Beyblades because they are awesome and entertaining.
Today’s thankful Warriors are Evan Baird and Evelyn Thurston. Evan is really thankful for food because he would die without it. Evelyn is thankful for her pets Cookie, Mange, Lucy and Claire. She said they are so cute and she loves them so much!
Washington School is collecting non-perishable food items for our local food pantries! If you would like to donate, please send items to school with your child. Last year our school collected over 800 items, can we beat that record this year?!
The Washington Warriors being featured giving thanks today are Laykin Newbury and Hunter Tomasello. Laykin is thankful for her family because they take really good care of her. Hunter is thankful for his little sister. He said she is really cute and likes to play Legos with him.
Happy American Education Week to all of our staff! We appreciate everyone that helps make Washington the wonderful school it is for our students!
Next week we are celebrating both Kindness Week as well as American Education Week with spirit days, feel free to join us by dressing according to the themes!
Today we celebrated and honored our veterans by sharing in an assembly with PJHS. We recognized several veterans and thanked them for their service to our country. We heard a few essays read aloud to us by junior high students and listened to the PJHS band and chorus play. Mrs. Haan’s daughter shared her well written essay and her father, Mr. Potts, was honored and appreciated for his service.
We also received word early this morning that our soldiers have received our care packages for our soldier drive overseas just in time for this special day. They were very appreciative and said it was the best care package that they have gotten yet. Thanks again to all who contributed in any way to make this such a success!
Washington students and staff want to thank all of our veterans for the service and sacrifice they have provided us and our country. Happy Veteran’s Day!!
DJ Johnson and Camila Soto are the Washington Warriors giving thanks today. DJ is thankful for his dog, Lucy. Lucy gives him comfort and love. Camila is thankful for her family. She said that they do a lot for her and her siblings and take good care of them.
On this Thankful Thursday we have Washington Warriors Skyelyn Cosby and Ryder Mrozek. Skyelyn is thankful for Washington school because her teachers educate her and she gets to play with her friends at recess. Ryder is thankful for his family and his dog, Howl. Ryder said without his family he wouldn’t exist and Howl gives him all the entertainment he needs.
